Kalief Browder 1993-2015

Another unfortunate death of a person incarcerated. To have a person sit in custody without a bail is at best criminal to say the least. The court system in New York State is itself is criminal. I personally have retired from The New York City Department of Correction, and witnessed firsthand the insanity of the court system railroading the poor or disadvantage back and forth between the courts and the jails of New York. My job description was “Care-Custody-Control of the population that was waiting to be sentenced by the New State Court system.
There are laws that state you have to “see” a judge within 24/48 hours. “The right to a speedy…[whatever]. One would see the judge according the law within the prescribed time frame, then sit in DOC custody because you could not make bail, the continuance of a case or remanded [no bail].
I have met people who “work the system”, needing a place to sleep for the winter. There were some who were working their defense and were housed in the Mental Observation unit whether or not they needed to be it was our job to be fair and protect them. The Mental Health System in New York fails miserably to the point the mentally ill know enough seek shelter and getting locked up for the winter is the only option.  One would see the despondent individuals who are clearly depressed longing for their loved ones that were arrested for arguing with law enforcement, go to court, and then the judge gives them some outrages bail amount that the family cannot afford to pay.
I have worked with the adolescents who I found very heart breaking to see young people who are and look very lost. Don’t get me wrong children will be children and can be trying at times. I had adolescents at home as well as work, I never got a brake [for a few years anyway]. As a parent, I could not help but to feel compassion for these young adults and had a watchful eye on my coworkers who may have lost patience with them. One of the ways to keep the young men in check was to distract them with “drop down and give me 50”! They knew it was give 50 pushups or face the unknown. There was nothing to the “unknown” they didn’t know it, but it worked every time.
I did not know of Kalief Browder, I knew many Kaleif Browders, who were in the “system” and had no business being in there for as long as he was. There is so much one can do if there is a court ordered, remand custody.  My father had an outrages bail amount when a white man called him a nigger then my father punched him in his mouth.
The New York State Court system keeps blood on its hands.

NFL AND THOSE HYPOCRITES

Dictionary

Top 10 words to win with in SCRABBLE® »
Full Definition of HYPOCRITE

2:  a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings
— hypocrite adjective [http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/hypocrite]
 The “Deflate-gate”
…” The Patriots will begin their Super Bowl title defense without the services of the franchise's all-time greatest player.

The NFL announced Monday that Tom Brady has been suspended without pay for four games for violating the NFL policy on the integrity of the game. The team will also be fined $1 million and will forfeit a 2016 first-rounder and 2017 fourth-round selection in the NFL Draft. Brady's agent announced Monday that his client will appeal the suspension.”[http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000492185/article/tom-brady-suspended-4-games-plans-to-appeal]
My point today is the fact that Locker room attendants are responsible for those balls being altered. Whether of not Brady knew about it or not, the fact remains those balls were altered. I do not believe Brady ordered this because one does not become a great quarterback by play with the air in the balls. The locker room attendant is suspended without pay and the Patriots lose position in the draft picks.
I do understand the officials are trying not to” play favorites” and set an example, Aside from quarterback Tom Brady, the release of Ted Wells' report on Tuesday will focus on two other names you may not have heard before from the New England Patriots' organization: Jim McNally and John Jastremski.

…“McNally's name has been thrown in before in this matter — he's the Patriots' officials locker room attendant and calls himself "the deflator." Jastremski is an equipment assistant for the team.

The pair exchange multiple text messages published in the report about Brady and deflating footballs, including one back-and-forth in which McNally sounds angry at the quarterback. We can't print all of them due to foul language, but here's a sampling:

McNally: Make sure you blow up the ball to look like a rugby ball so tom can get used to it before sunday
Jastremski: Omg

And here's another:
Jastremski: Size 11?
Jastremski: 2 or 3X?

McNally: Tom must really be on you

McNally: 11 0r 11 half......2x unless its tight fitting

Jastremski: Nah. Hasnt even mentioned it, figured u should get
something since he gives u nothing

Another exchange appears to imply Brady would give them autographed memorabilia:

McNally: Remember to put a couple sweet pig skins ready for tom to sign
Jastremski: U got it kid...big autograph day for you

McNally: Nice throw some kicks in and make it real special

Jastremski: It ur lucky. 11?

McNally: 11 or 11 and half kid

There's also this paragraph from page 18 of the report:

"Additional evidence of Bradys awareness includes a material increase in the frequency of telephone and text communications between Brady and Jastremski shortly after suspicions of ball tampering became public on January 19. After not communicating by telephone or text message for more than six months (based on data retrieved from Jastremski's cell phone), Brady and Jastremski spoke by telephone at least twice on January 19 (calls lasting a total of 25 minutes and 2 seconds), twice on January 20 (calls lasting a total of 9 minutes and 55 seconds) and twice on January 21 (calls lasting a total of 20 minutes and 52 seconds) before Jastremski surrendered his cell phone to the Patriots later that day for forensic imaging. These calls included conversations relatively early during the mornings of January 19 (7:26 a.m. for 13 minutes and 4 seconds), January 20 (8:22 a.m. for 6 minutes and 21 seconds) and January 21 (7:38 a.m. for 13 minutes and 47 seconds). Brady also took the unprecedented step of inviting Jastremski to the QB room (essentially Bradys office) in Gillette Stadium on January 19 for the first and only time that Jastremski can recall during his twenty-year career with the Patriots, and Brady sent Jastremski text messages seemingly designed to calm Jastremski ("You good Jonny boy?"; "You doing good?").]..[

….But we all know this too as always, it is all President Obama’s fault!

HIS SPINE WAS SEVERED.

FREDDIE GRAY VOCAL CORD WAS SNAPPED.
…”(CNN)Freddie Gray did not get timely medical care after he was arrested and was not buckled into a seat belt while being transported in a police van, Baltimore police said Friday.
Police Commissioner Anthony Batts told reporters there are no excuses for the fact that Gray was not buckled in as he was transported to a police. Five days after Gray's death and amid ongoing protests, police officials acknowledged mistakes were made during and after his arrest.station.”[http://www.cnn.com/2015/04/24/us/baltimore-freddie-gray-death/]

Why? There has to some type of resolution of the police standard of practice. It is now status quo for the misbehavior of some of the uniform rank and file to go on unsolved and no one held accountable for. We in the Black Community cannot stop bring light to these injustices. The modern day civil rights are being violated as they were in the 1940’s, 1950 and 1960’s.
I, a 50 something year old am exhausted with walking the streets to protest, but do encourage the young to continue the cause. Instead of the “baboonery” that is promoted on the idiot box, we cannot lose focus on the issues at hand. I have to encourage the young to never forget our resent past because it affects our future. Instead of material wishes, focus on how to enlighten one another, uplift and encourage our community and stop look for someone else to fix it.
To you celebrities, I implore you to use your platform, whatever it is,  to encourage who you have influence on to strive to do better for themselves and their communities. To those, what I call sub-cultures [WordStar, channels alike, etc.]  So of you act like “Stephen from DJANGO, STOP. Get with the program and stop the bullshit.
In this day of social media, instant news while it happens, there is no time to mobilize marches or protest, legislations to bring about notice. We already know! Nowadays there is video, undisputed evidence recorded. [Still no justice]
There are so many communities within our community that are doing good, we rarely see or acknowledge them but the media insist on feeding the frenzy with the bad police policies in action.
Until we change the police policy/law and the grand jury systems, they will be operating within the ..letter of the law.
Instead of promoting the foolishness of mindless, pointless, non-uplifting we need to continue to push for change.

The 155th Anniversary of the Pony Express

According to Google today is the 155th anniversary of the Pony Express
This article is about the fast mail service of 1860–1861. For other meanings of "Pony Express", see Pony Express (disambiguation)
Pony Express Postmark, 1860, westbound
The Pony Express was a mail service delivering messages, newspapers, mail, and small packages from St. Joseph, Missouri, across the Great Plains, over the Rocky Mountains and the Sierra Nevada to Sacramento, California, by horseback, using a series of relay stations. Officially operating as the Leavenworth and Pike's Peak Express Company of 1859, which in 1860 became the Central Overland California and Pikes Peak Express Company, this firm was founded by William H. Russell, Alexander Majors, and William B. Waddell all of whom were notable in the freighting business.[1] During its 18 months of operation, it reduced the time for messages to travel between the Atlantic and Pacific coasts to about 10 days.[2] From April 3, 1860, to October 1861, it became the West's most direct means of east–west communication before the telegraph was established and was vital for tying the new state of California with the rest of the United States.

On the other hand
April 3, 1860:
On this day in 1860, the first Pony Express mail, traveling by horse and rider relay teams, simultaneously leaves St. Joseph, Missouri, and Sacramento, California. Ten days later, on April 13, the westbound rider and mail packet completed the approximately 1,800-mile journey and arrived in Sacramento, beating the eastbound packet’s arrival in St. Joseph by two days and setting a new standard for speedy mail delivery. Although ultimately short-lived and unprofitable, the Pony Express captivated America’s imagination and helped win federal aid for a more economical overland postal system. It also contributed to the economy of the towns on its route and served the mail-service needs of the American West in the days before the telegraph or an efficient transcontinental railroad.[ http://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/pony-express-debuts] This article is about the fast mail service of 1860–1861. April 14, 1865:

On this day in 1865, John Wilkes Booth, an actor and Confederate sympathizer, fatally shoots President Abraham Lincoln at a play at Ford’s Theater in Washington, D.C. The attack came only five days after Confederate General Robert E. Lee surrendered his massive army at Appomattox Court House, Virginia, effectively ending the American Civil War.

The infamous Dr. Mudd set Booth’s broken arm after Booth fled Washington D.C. and today we get the term “his name is Mudd” when I catch him.

MISTER, MASTER, MISS, MISSES, MS.

This information is solely based on my individual understanding. I am tired of the misuse of these titles by mostly the younger generation [some old heads as well] not understand how to use these titles. The old fashion traditions where when the man was the head of household and it was known as the Smith clan or house hold. Mr. Smith may have had a few females in his household and how one would address the females lets you know who is who. Mrs. Smith could be his wife or mother, but one would introduce the wife first then his mother last if it is his family being introduces. The next group of people would introduced as Master Smith, Mister Smith and Miss Smith; Master Smith was his son under the age of 14 or 18 depending upon the culture, and Young Mr. Smith would be an elder son.
There may be a few Miss Smith, who are Mr. Smith’s daughters. Miss Smith would not be married and would carry her father’s name until she in turn got married. The eldest daughter would get introduce first then down the line to the youngest.
After Mr. Smith’s immediate family was introduced, he would introduce his mother-in-law then his mother Mrs. Smith.
Since the 1970’s a new tradition was added the American English, the title Ms. the title Ms. is a female period. She held no alliance to anyone. One will have to get to know her on her own merit. Ms. can be a single young lady, married woman or divorced. It is what it’s known as a “handle”. Older folks do not like you “handling” their names. Out of respect one would put a “handle on it” [Mrs. Smith or Ma’am]
I’m in the south now, I have a problem with the Ma’am, Sir business…[just, excuse me and thank you] will have to do!
Miss/Mrs./Ms.
